I met Firdaus when we were in Poly. I like how the first time I met Emil, the session went really smoothly from talking about personal goals, finance and more in depth on different types of investments. My favourite part was how casual and professional our conversation was. Emil really exceeds my expectations by coming in prepared and managed to cover everything before I could even ask her questions regarding finance and investments. Before the session, I had zero knowledge about financial investments and insurance. Emil is very genuine and patient when it comes to sharing knowledge. I love how she explains the topic well and gives relatable metaphors regarding investments like planting trees. What makes Emil stands out is that she is not a hard seller or "pushy" instead she tries to understand her client's situation. The formality of the entire pitch meeting was my favourite aspect of the session. I thought Em did a great job of striking a wonderful balance while presenting the various plan options in a semi-casual manner, which enhanced the environment for me and made me feel really at ease the entire time. What I think is the most important thing I learned from this conversation is that she presented a different perspective than mine regarding financial advisors. Her experience, coupled with my own less than stellar encounters with other financial advisers, opened my eyes to the fact that advisors differ in their approach to plan pitching; it all comes down to the advisor's goals and how they may best serve their clients. I think Em's ability to maintain composure and be pleasant sets her apart from other advisors. Before she begins selecting appropriate programs for each client individually, she is very patient and would be interested in learning about the aims and aspirations of her clients. She is casual and open and treats her customers like friends, which is something I find appealing. This helps to relieve the pressure and guilt associated with deciding whether or not to buy the plans. Personally, both of us are freelance artists, so our field is the same. She understands my situation vividly in terms of finance and time. She was able to create a perfect plan for me for my specific issue. The entire session with Em was, in my opinion, excellent and really beneficial. I'm confident she possesses the skills and information necessary to succeed as a financial counsellor. As she is aware of my circumstances and provides answers that are always appropriate, I would heartily advise any of my fellow artists who are searching for insurance or investment plans to speak with her one-on-one. I think this would be quite helpful.

I love that Em took the time to get to know my aspirations, future goals and financial literacy as we did our planning and that she catered the session towards what I needed most. I felt comfortable sharing my situation with her and by the end of the session, had far more clarity towards my financial future and it’s potential. I understood the importance of financial planning and saw how the actions I could take towards my monetary goals was more feasible than I initially thought. Financial planning was less intimidating than I initially expected. Emil created a safe space to share from the get-go, never assuming or recommending a product without taking the time to understand her client’s needs first. Firdaus is a close friend of mine, part of the clique where we would always hang out. During the meeting, he did a very great job on separating the client needs and wants, depending on the client life situations. He advised me to focus on the client’s needs then he would give a rational advised accordingly on the client’s wants. For choosing Firdaus rather other than all other FAs, is all because of trust. It would take some time to build trust especially when it comes to this line of work. Knowing him since secondary school and kept in contact until now builds the trust. Some of the concerns that I had was thinking about being unable to buy a car and invest at the same time as having a car is part of my needs than wants. However, Firdaus manages to fill in the gaps that it is still possible to invest while having a car at the same time. Previous experience from the FAs that it is not possible as having a car is more of a want than needs when I have already explained the situation that I am currently in and ending up rejecting whatever they have to offer. InsyaAllah with what Firdaus have planned for me will be successful. I will definitely recommend my friends if they are finding someone to invest their assets, grow their money and prepare for their retirement days.
